Psychiatry in modern medicine mainly focuses on neurochemical imbalances — mainly dopamine and serotonin — whereas Ayurveda offers a holistic approach for mental health rooted in the concepts of mind, atma, sattwa, rajas and tamas. In this modern era, there is a rising prevalence of anxiety, depression, insomnia and memory disorders, highlighting the need for an integrative approach to these conditions.
